Amputees who have kept up with advances in prosthetic limb technology over the past two decades may have been surprised by the exciting work coming from the unlikely island of Iceland. Certainly the experience with Icelandic plastics has proven you can find cutting edge prosthetic technology on a remote island. Now another island is applying some of Iceland's technology, and other advances from around the world, with its own brand of creativity and ingenuity.

On the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, just north of Venezuela, Sentro ORTO-FISIKO Kòrsou, is pushing the technology envelope and packaging the process in a more enjoyable environment. For about half the cost of a new prosthetic limb in the US, Sentro ORTO-FISIKO Kòrsou is able to provide its state of the art product along with a two week vacation for two on a peaceful Caribbean island.
